Dear Wasted Food reader,
Tomorrow is Earth Day. You may have heard. You know, it’s a time to be inundated with offers to buy green products contemplate our planet’s fragility.
To mark the occasion, I have one simple request: Don’t waste any food.
That’s not too much to ask–for one day, at least–is it?
Thanks and enjoy the day.
Your pal,
Jonathan

In advance of Earth Day, we made a “clean out the fridge & freezer soup” using up all the bits and pieces: a little bacon, half a cabbage, 2 potatoes, 2 half onions, a bag of frozen kale, some sausage, a little broth. It was delicious.
Every day should be Earth Day. Now what about not using plastic? When will that holiday come?
Sounds tasty, dee dee. And almost all those things make me think of earth (i.e. dirt). Very appropriate.
Lentil B, you may have to move to Europe for that one. Although…maybe I spoke too soon…
