The article made it seem as if leftovers are just something that eccentric people foist on others, petty people steal from their friends, crazy relative send through the mail, or poor-planning parents force their family to eat four nights in a row. Wrong message to be sending. I had a friend in high school whose Mom, who fancied herself an haute gorumet, always cooked very bizarre, too-clever-for-their-own good dishes. My friend used to LOVE to come to my house for dinner on Monday nights, because my mom always served our (much more palatable) weekend leftovers -- fried chicken, corn on the cob, etc. My friend used to say all the time that he'd take my Mom's leftovers over his mom's first-timers any day of the week. I would have loved to see some stories liek THAT in the time spiece for balance.

I thought it was quite silly. Leftovers are great. I don't share mine (which I think was kind of the point of the article), because they're mine - all MINE! Had leftover rice for breakfast this AM.
