Go Gators! Thank you for writing about this. I'm a very proud alumna right now! One of the reasons why I still love living in Gainesville is that it's a very green-minded city. Plus, the almost daily summer showers make gardening a lot easier ; )

I've never heard of a University implementing a program like that. It sounds like a great way to reduce waste and consumption in the dining halls. Now if we could just get them to shut off the lights in all of their buildings when they're not in use, and turn down the heat and A.C., we'd be golden!

Just a thought...If everybody at the University of Florida, or everywhere else for that matter, would cut the calorie intake to what was needed and not what they want it would also cut down on the amount of food in general being used. This would help curb obesity and lower the price of food somewhat.
