					<description>I have problems with my pears a lot of the time.  It seems like one day they're too hard, and then suddenly they're all soft and bruised and mushy.  I solved this problem by not buying them, for the most part.  

Maybe I should take a closer look at the guide.  :p</description>

					<description>Avocados are the most difficult!  When I try and plan ahead -- i.e. buy an under-ripe one a week in advance to let sit on the counter, nary a one to be found.  And when I plan last minute for avocados they're all under-ripe!  Every once in a while I have success retarding the ripening process by putting them in the fridge.</description>
