A new zero-waste initiative at Univ. of Colorado football games will include composting. Given that each game produces 11 tons of trash, there should be plenty to compost. Maybe Ralphie could eat some of the half-eaten hot dogs? (I couldn’t resist making that joke again)

We all love Alice Waters and, not surprisingly, she despises food waste.
Waters spoke about the need to do something with all the food that is wasted, “We need to do more foraging and gleaning. Lots of food is wasted on the ground which is very edible.â€

Regarding the first link…one time at Trader Joe’s, the kid’s craft involved taking cut peppers and dipping them in paint(to use them like a stamp). The employee was using red, yellow, and orange peppers, and all I could think about was how expensive her stamps were! lol
I use a grill brush to clean my grill too. I’d rather grill the onion!(I love grilled veggies).
Yeah, I’d be dipping the peppers into my mouth, especially at $4 per pound. I prefer potato stamps to peppers, anyway.

the playing with food link…oh…i’m not sure…i guess it depends what you do with it AFTER – compost or garbage? Maybe if you brought in a lesson on using it to be thankful for the food – the same way some tribes wear the skin and bones of animals…
