If I (as an individual) made $10,294/yr (2006 US poverty level) and spent 60% of those earning on food alone, I would have ~$515/month (or $16.92/day). That seems very manageable to me foodwise for any American.

However, if I am only using 15% of my income toward food, that's $4.23/day (or ~$128/month)</description>
